COMMENT
CHASSIS AND UNDERFRAME: The main chassis of the trailer looks in good condition - reasonably clean and well painted with no structural rust or fatigue evident. There is one tiny weld repair on the bottom flange of the chassis adjacent to the R/H end of the second cross member back from the goose neck. The main chassis rails are 420 x 125 I beams. The deck has 150 x 75 channel main bearers with 76 x 38 channel cross members at 450mm centres. The deck bearers have a gentle bow over their full length and the cross members have taken a fair beating over the years. MECHANICAL: 10 ton axles with 5 spoke oil hubs on 7 leaf spring suspension. Most of the spring slipper pads have been re-plated and now indicate minor to moderate wear. Remaining brake lining wear: First axle - 90% both sides. Second axle - 95% both sides. A plate on the L/H chassis rail reads 'King pin replaced at 103183kms'. The rear axle spacing is 1350mm. BODY: 7300mm long steel tip deck with 720mm high sides - bevel corners. BFOB hoist. Dual swing tailgate. The deck has seen a fair bit of work - the entire floor has been over plated and is in good condition - only 15mm undulations between supports. The tailgate has endured a few knocks including one that has pierced the skin (100mm) in the centre. The combing rails on top of the sides are both bowed inwards by approximately 80mm. A new outer skin has been welded into the sides which looks presentable - the original inner skin has taken a fair amount of bruising. The hoist looks fairly new however there is some oil running down - possibly just wipe from the extended stages. GENERAL: A fairly well used trailer that has seen a fair bit of hard work but still looks capable of earning its keep.
