COMMENT
CAB INTERIOR: Rough. The grey fabric upholstery on the seat is in reasonable condition but fairly grubby and the headrest cushion is missing. The roof lining is also complete but requires a clean. The arm rest on the L/H joystick console is missing. There are two holes (50mm) broken through the plastic trim beside the R/H air-con outlet. The radio and a blanking panel are missing from the R/H console. There are some large cracks in the L/H side window adjacent to the door. The lower door glass, lower front window and R/H window are missing altogether. The cab is very dirty, full of cobwebs and dry dirt. The floor mat has a couple of small splits and has come away from the floor at the front edge. EXTERIOR PANELS: Rough and ready. There are several shallow dents in the front and R/H lower panels. A clear Perspex panel below the front window is smashed. The grab handle on the front R/H side of the machine is bent and has broken away at the top. The R/H side panel has taken a heavy knock which has dented it in by 30mm. The front window guard also has taken a few knocks resulting in several bent louvers. The top engine cover has several shallow dents. Paintwork poor - large scrapes and scratches all over with 60% of the paint being completely worn off at the rear of the counterweight. FUNCTIONAL EQUIPMENT: The crowd ram, crowd linkage and bucket have been removed and a rotating log grapple fitted. The crowd ram hydraulic lines are used to operate the claw clamps. The steel hydraulic lines on the top side of the dipper are broken off and held in place with a ratchet tie-down. The log grapple has seen a fair bit of hard work and is wet with oil. The eye has broken off at the top of the spear on one of the grapple rams. The coupling that attaches to the bottom of the dipper has several weld repairs and cracks. Heavy wear evident (8 to 10mm) in the boom / dipper junction pin. Moderate to heavy wear in the boom rams top & bottom eyelets and the boom base pin. Moderate wear in the dipper ram eyelets. The steel hydraulic lines on the boom rams are bent but dont appear to be leaking. MECHANICAL: Engine is grubby and covered in oil and dirt residue. Required jumper assistance but started well with a large puff of blue smoke initially - cleared quickly but not completely once running. Exhaust stack is broken off. There is quite a bit of oil dampness around the belly plates but unable to determine source. GENERAL: This machine is generally in rough condition and has had a hard life. It will require extensive refurbishment to reinstate to normal working condition - alternatively a wrecking proposition. NOTE: Do not buy this machine with out thoroughly checking it over.
