COMMENT
CAB INTERIOR: Fair. There are a couple of huge tears in the seat cushion upholstery - backrest no too bad. Dash, instruments and controls reasonably tidy. Roof lining complete but overdue for clean. Plain painted metal interior generally presentable - some surface rust around lower regions. Windows and window rubbers good. The bottom strut of the RH door frame has rusted through over an area 300mm long. Both doors shut snugly. EXTERIOR PANELS: Generally tidy. There are two 50mm x 50mm rust holes in both sides of the engine bonnet towards the rear at the bottom edges. The leading edge of the LH cab door has suffered a minor kink and there is a tiny ding in the LH front edge of the roof. Paintwork aged with various areas of flaking and usual wear around work affected areas. There are heavy scrapes along both sides and surface rust well established on the cross member in front of the drum. FUNCTIONAL EQUIPMENT: 2150mm wide smooth surface drum has a couple of large fractures running around the circumference adjacent to the end plates (580mm in from each end). Unable to test for chassis pivot wear however the steering ram eyelet has at least 5 or 6 mm of play visible. MECHANICAL: Engine dusty but no notable leaks apart from some minor oil dampness on the turbo oil return line. The Vendor advises that the drive on the unit is completely blown. The machine is unable to be moved. The engine started briefly but aerated oil was pissing out of the secondary hydraulic pump on the RH side of the machine. Suspect problem may be a blown hydraulic pump rather than the transmission. Machine was in day to day work prior to the drive giving up the ghost. Possibly a worthwhile project for someone who can investigate and repair the problem. The cracks in the drum skin will also require attention soon.
